Community 2000 Scholarship Mission

Comunity 2000 has offered need-based scholarships since the spring of 2000.  Since 2003, Community 2000 has been affiliated with Scholarship America/Dollars for Scholars.  The mission of Community 2000/Dollars for Scholars is to offer students in the towns of Charlestown, Hopkinton and Richmond the opportunity to further their education by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships for individuals having some level of financial need. Community 2000 scholarships are for up to four years thereby providing the student continued support throughout their undergraduate education Students in undergraduate programs that require more than 4 years may apply for a 5th and 6th year scholarship.  In addition to providing thousands of dollars annually for scholarships, Community 2000 has grown a scholarship endowment that exceeds $600,000.

The partnership with Scholarship America provides students access to additional scholarships, delivers potential financial benefits to students from Scholarship America's Collegiate Partners, and makes it easier for students to apply for scholarships with an on-line scholarship application.  Go to Community 2000/Scholarship America for more information and the application process.

Scholarship Partnerships

Community 2000 has developed additional partnerships with the Rotary Club of Chariho and the Westerly College Club (two other independent organizations that support Chariho students with scholarships).  In helping to raise funds raise funds for the Chariho Rotary Club and the Westerly College Club scholarship endowments, Community 2000 ensures  that more scholarship funds will be  available to deserving Chariho students.  For more information, go to: Scholarship Partnerships.

Chariho Community Educational Projects (CCEP) Mission

Most of us can remember a parent, teacher, class, or coach whose special efforts, guidance, and inspiration made "a difference " in our education and our lives. The CCEP mission is to offer Chariho Regional School District teachers, support personnel, administrators and student, community or parent groups additional funds to use as they endeavor to encourage a stimulating atmosphere of excellence in education and lifelong learning. CCEP funding is intended to supplement existing, budgeted funds. It provides "early support" from the private sector for ideas, opportunities and services that will substantially advance the educational process throughout the Chariho Regional School District.
